Magnus Archives: Finale

I mean, it's satisfying, yes, and it's well done, and we've gotten the actual story of what the deal is with the Fears and have probably doomed the multiverse by passing our apocalypse along, and the world appears to be recovering although it did *not* magically snap back, but... the options here are Jon and Martin slipped into an alternate reality and Jon is probably still an Avatar but in a new world that's back like our reality was in season one, with the fears just kind of lurking, or Jon and Martin both died and the apocalypse still got passed along to another reality. We got the satisfaction of Jonah begging for his life and Jon killing him anyway. (And that *was* immensely satisfying.) We got Jon's love for Martin being the thing that dooms the multiverse, but it also saves our reality.
Georgie got her cat back, and she and Basira and Melanie are still together and doing okay and apparently getting Rosie to cat-sit for them.
But we have no idea what happened to Jon and Martin and no idea what happened to the multiverse and there is no way they answer that question in the post-season content. Jonny will say something mysterious about how the whole point is that you don't know and you can imagine it however you like. (I predict a rash of fics featuring Jon and Martin trying to safeguard a new universe against the apocalypse and running into alternate-universe Tim and Sasha and shenanigans ensuing.)
So my reaction really can be summed up as "!!!"
